How to Vote

Please note that all the information here can be found on the City of Airdrie website. Please check their website for the most up-to-date information.

All voters must be on the permanent Electors Registry to vote. There is a single voters’ list for provincial and municipal elections. By registering for the provincial election, you are automatically registered to vote in the Airdrie Municipal Election. Register Here.

You can vote at any of the following locations during the Advance Polls, irrespective of your zone.

Request a Special Ballot Package

 If you are unable to vote at an Advance Vote opportunity or on Election Day, you can request a special ballot package. Important note: Due to the Canada Post strike, Elections Airdrie cannot guarantee a timely delivery of the Special Ballots. You can still visit them at City Hall, located at 400 Main St SE, Airdrie, to pick up and/or drop off special ballots in person. Thank you for your understanding.

Important Dates

Special ballots will be sent out starting September 29, 2025.
Packages will be sent to voters after ballots have been printed and as packages are ready.

Special ballot applications request deadline:  Oct. 20, 2025, at 12 p.m. (noon).

Deadline to return special ballot packages in order to be counted: Oct. 20, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall, 400 Main Street SE

To request a special ballot:  Email elections@airdrie.ca with the following information:

– Full Legal Name as it appears on your identification
– Date of Birth (Day/Month/Year)
– Address
– Acknowledge that you will be picking up the special ballot at City Hall

Identification Requirements

A copy of your identification (ID) needs to be included with your completed special ballot. Instructions on how to include the ID copy are in the special ballot package.

You are required to include a physical copy of your identification (ID) with your completed special ballot. A copy could be:

a printed photo of your ID, or
a photocopy of your ID

The personal information being collected is authorized under section 4(c) of the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and will be used for the purpose of administering the 2025 General Election Special Ballot process in compliance with the Local Authorities Election Act. While your personal information may be entered into an automated system for the purpose of preparing the PER, it will be managed and protected in accordance with the provisions of POPA.
