The Making of a Mayor
I have been proud to call Airdrie home since 2007. My husband and I are raising our family here, juggling careers, school schedules, and the growing pains of living in one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities. My kids go to our local public schools, we wait in the same traffic, and we line up at the same rec facilities as every other family. When I speak about the needs of Airdrie, I am not drawing on something abstract or theoretical. I am speaking from lived experience as a neighbour, building a life here.
I was born and raised in Alberta, grew up learning in French immersion, and had the gift of meeting international students at a young age. Those experiences made me a more curious and open-minded person and taught me not to settle for “good enough” when it comes to our communities. I also grew up in a family where service and politics were everyday conversations. I have been helping on campaigns since I was little, yet tall enough to slip brochures under windshield wipers, and that sense of service has never left me.
My career has been a mix of people and results. I started in arts and culture, learning how to build community and speak up for it. Later, I moved into technology and data, working with businesses of every size from local shops to global Fortune 500 companies, where I led teams, solved problems, and delivered outcomes. I’ve held this career while serving on city council, and that blend of creativity and strategy shaped me into a leader who can listen, connect, and make things happen.
I am also deeply committed to supporting local. When it comes to your friends, family, or neighbours, supporting local is not just a choice; it is a value. That has been true in my years of work in arts, culture, and advocacy, and it still guides how I serve today.
I have had the privilege of four very productive years on City Council, along with years of leadership experience, post-secondary education, and a proven record of getting results. But the most important part of who I am is this: I am a neighbour raising a family here, thankful every day for this community, and determined to make sure every Airdrie family feels heard, supported, and proud to call this city home.
